How It Works

NNY Fire Wire monitors publicly available emergency dispatch feeds and scanner audio channels across Northern New York. Our dedicated team of volunteer administrators manually reviews these feeds in real-time and adds incident details including location, call type, responding units, and status updates to our system. This information is instantly delivered to your device via push notifications and displayed on our interactive map interface.

Our platform is built on Firebase infrastructure, ensuring 99.9% uptime and sub-second notification delivery. We use advanced geolocation technology to provide accurate incident mapping and allow you to track emergency activity in your specific community or across the North Country region. All information is manually verified and entered by our admin team to ensure accuracy.

Data Sources & Accuracy

We aggregate emergency dispatch information from over 30 fire departments and EMS agencies across St. Lawrence and Franklin counties. Our primary data sources include authorized public safety communication feeds, official department dispatches, and verified scanner audio channels.
